Processing Methods

Drilling


SEVEN's panels can be drilled with twist drills commonly used for drilling aluminium and plastics.

Punching


SEVEN's panels can be punched with a conventional punching machine. For clean cuts, use evenly ground tools and the narrowest possible cutting gap. Note that punching can cause indentation on the panel cover sheet.

Riveting


Riveting is possible with the use of conventional equipment and rivets. For outdoor use of panels, please take into consideration of panel expansion.

Clamping


Use serrated corner-joint and butt joint sections for all SEVEN's panels of 3mm, 4mm and 6mm thickness.

Shearing


Use a guillotine for shearing. Make sure the blanking tools are padded as shearing can cause indentation on the panel cover sheet.

Glueing


Use conventional metal adhesive for gluing of panels. Note there is no adhesion on the plastic core. For indoor use of panels use double-sided tape.

Welding


SEVEN's panels can be joined by the hot-air welding method. The plastic core and plastic welding rod are heated and then welded with electric hot-air welding sets. Soft black 1800-h-type polyethylene welding rods are recommended.

Screwing


Panels can be screwed together with conventional stainless steel and sheet metal screws. Panels to be used for outdoor, take into consideration panel expansion.


Processing Installation

Aluminium Composite Panel is very easy to process. Cutting, milling, slotting, side-folding and curving can be easily fulfilled by simple tools used for processing timber and metal. It can be shaped into various shapes such as curve, reserve curve, curve corner and sharp curve according to requirements of the building design. It is incomparable for other decorating materials.

Normal aluminium product processing machinery and wood product processing machinery can be used for processing of SEVEN's panels without any special device.

Saw Cutting

It can be easily processed with wood product processing saw and plate saw. It is recommended to use a hard alloy blade.

Slotting

It is important to make the 'U' type slotting process with a distance of 0.4-5mm from the polyethylene substrate.

1) Milling machine and trimmer

Use the modified drill as shown in the left chart.
Running speed: 20,000 - 30,000rpm.
Feed speed: 3 - 5m/min.
Material: Hard alloy

2) When processing a large quantity of 'U' type slots

It is recommended to use a round saw and belt saw.
The following is an example of slotter:

Material: Hard alloy flake
Outer diameter: 305mm
Number of teeth: 24
Running speed: 3,000 - 5,000rpm

Bending with 3-roller panel bender

3-roller panel bender is preferable for bending of large internal diameter to plate folder.

Countersink rivet to make a joint from one direction.

Bolting

Considering the formation limit, the formula e-2D is the best calculation way of aperture D and distance from the centre hole to the plate end.
